Break Free: How Following the Signs Led Me to Myself is a raw, unfiltered memoir of the beginning of my spiritual awakening — the highs, the struggles, and the unbelievable magical moments that made me who I am today.

In May of 2023, where our story really kicks off, I was just an ordinary twenty-three-year-old. I had major self-esteem and confidence issues. I was a people pleaser. I had social anxiety. I was afraid to speak my mind or be seen by others. I was drowning in grief. I was living in San Diego, California, and working as a photojournalist in the toxic world of news while rapidly approaching severe burnout. I also didn’t believe in any higher power, had no idea why I was on this earth, and had no clue how I was going to survive on it for another sixty years of my life, let alone the next five.

That girl might have been called Heather, but only in name. That girl was not me. I am now a spiritual guide with an online community of a hundred thousand people and growing. I communicate with my spirit guides and the universe regularly and teach people how they can do the same. I guide others on how to live free from the fears and constraints that keep them trapped within their minds, and speak my truth with a confidence and a presence I never knew I had within me. I also lived nomadically abroad as a solo female traveler for a year and a half.

So how did I get here? It’s a question I’ve been asked by numerous people. And it’s a question that is impossible to answer in a few sentences. In fact, to even attempt such a simplification would diminish the profound transformation I underwent. So instead, I am providing my answer here in this book.
